NTE is a supernatural urban open-world RPG from Hotta Studio, originally out globally in the end of April 2026. The game's story takes place in the colorful Hethereau, where players will find themselves as an "Appraiser" (Esper Zero) working at a shop called Eibon to explore and contain different kinds of unknown entities. It is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and will release on PC, PS5, iOS & Android. It has an original gacha system for characters and equipment (Arcs), while combat revolves around Esper abilities that generate elemental reactions such as Scorch and Nova. The player can also drive customizable cars, purchase homes and property (some of which are affordable), take part in heavily GTA Style gameplay such as fully-fledged car racing mechanics or partake the main life simulation elements that come with games like Fishing & tie-in Mini Music Games. NTE has a unique "GTA meets anime" feel with is mix of supernatural mystery, open-world exploration and urban lifestyle.
Real-time hack-and-slash with a 4-member party (called Espers). You swap characters on the fly, dodge/parry to break enemy stagger gauges, and trigger elemental reactions (Esper Cycles) by combining different elements for bonus damage. Freely traverse the city on foot—climbing, parkouring, swimming—or drive fully customizable cars and motorcycles. Complete main quests, side commissions, and hunt hidden anomalies across districts. Buy and decorate apartments, run cafés or shops, go fishing, street racing, or even attempt a bank heist to earn in-game currency. High-affinity characters can move into your home for interactions. Summon Espers and equip them with Arcs (weapons), Cartridge sets, and Module grids. Level up your Hunter and Appraisal ranks to unlock tougher content and materials.

NTE is a contemporary urban supernatural open-world gacha game. It takes place in the colorful Hethereau, an anomaly-filled megacity which fuses rapid action-combat play with freeform open world exploration and deep life simulation. Unlike other fantasy open-world games, NTE builds in a modern city environment that brings to players a super flexible experience filled with exciting battles and casual playing.
The most incredible praise for NTE is that its gameplay system, which pushes the limits of a classic fantasy scenery in diverse ways to provide too much balance between combat and play time. Set in an original, intricate urban open world brimming with interactive elements. Aside from main story quests that reveal unearthly urban legends and anomalous enigmas, there is plenty of life content for players. Buy and renovate houses, luxury cars, go fishing exotic racing. This design accommodates varying player groups: the combat-oriented can jump right into boss fights and anomaly investigations, while casual players can live a more relaxed city life without defined obligatory goals.
Additionally, NTE delivers polished and strategic combat mechanics that elevate its playability. It adopts a four-character team switch combat system with six unique elemental attributes, including fire, ice, thunder and light. The innovative collapse mechanic allows players to accumulate collapse value through continuous attacks, putting enemies into a paralyzed vulnerable state with increased damage taken. Different elemental combinations trigger exclusive linkage effects, encouraging flexible team lineup strategies. Moreover, its creative Tetris-style equipment matching system adds depth to character development, requiring players to optimize equipment layouts reasonably instead of blind mechanical upgrades. The smooth combat actions, responsive controls and gorgeous skill visual effects further enhance the immersive battle experience.
The game also excels in player-friendly design and immersive world building. It adopts a generous free-to-play oriented gacha mechanism, with accessible high-quality character and resource acquisition channels, reducing the pay-to-win tendency common in most gacha games. The vivid living city environment, dynamic weather and delicate scene details make Hethereau feel like a real breathing world. Well-shaped charismatic characters and in-depth side stories also enrich the game's narrative, making the exploration process more engaging and touching.
However, the game's only prominent flaw is its high mobile device hardware requirements and unavoidable frame drops. NTE's high-definition urban scenes, real-time lighting effects and rich dynamic details place a heavy burden on mobile processors. Even on mid-to-high-end devices, prolonged gameplay leads to obvious frame rate instability, overheating and battery drain. Low and medium-end devices struggle to run the game smoothly with frequent stutters. This hardware barrier limits the player base and greatly affects the gaming fluency, preventing many players from fully enjoying the game's exquisite visuals and smooth combat.
All in all, Neverness to Everness is a pioneering urban open-world game with diverse gameplay, exquisite visuals and strategic combat systems. Its single hardware optimization shortcoming does not overshadow its outstanding advantages. If the official team optimizes device compatibility and reduces operating pressure in future updates, the game will deliver a nearly perfect gaming experience for all types of players.
