Ghost of Tsushima is an open world adventure game developed by Sony. Set. In 1274, samurai were still the powerful guardians of Japan until the mighty Mongol Empire invaded Tsushima and ravaged the local people, players take on the role of the last surviving samurai, reborn from the ashes, and fight back. The samurai to do everything possible to defend their homeland from the Mongol Empire. But the tactics that players pride themselves on can't win against their opponents, so they have to take a new approach, the "ghost" approach, so you will take back your home from the Mongols in a completely different way.

Ghost of Tsushima is an open-world action-adventure game developed by the American studio Sucker Punch. The game was announced at the 2017 Paris Game Show in France and released on July 17, 2020, for Sony's PlayStation 4 platform.

The game received a perfect score of 40 from the gaming media "Fami Tong".

On November 13, 2020, the game has sold more than 5 million copies, setting a new record for the fastest sales of Sony's first-party original new IP exclusive game on PS4.

On December 8, 2020, the game won the TGA2020 "Voice of the Gamer" award.

On September 3, 2021, "Ghost of Tsushima" multiplayer mode "Chitam Mode" was released independently, and the new match mode was updated at the same time.

How to play

After completing special tasks, the protagonist can exchange points for a variety of "power tactics", according to your habits and preferences, to create the strongest samurai in your mind. Among them, I recommend first to upgrade the continuous assassination techniques, once over the solution of 2-3 enemies is very useful. In addition, the game also has a variety of heritage tasks, although more time-consuming, but will have better pay.

As a katana adept, the protagonist also has different stances to flexibly use different weapons, tactics, and even use special moves. Facing different enemies using the right stance will also bring a better attack effect.

In addition to the gameplay in Ghost of Tsushima, there are also some mini-games, such as Bamboo Chopper, which is simple to play with sequential buttons, but it must be pressed within a short period of time, and after success, a specific number of completions can be accumulated, which will increase the determination value.

Ghost of Tsushima is an action-adventure game produced by Sucker Puch and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game adopts an open-world gameplay and uses the latest engine technology to keep the whole world in motion, and the rich sword fighting and katana gameplay is the biggest appeal of this game.

Background setting

At the end of the 13th century AD, the Mongol Empire was on the march to the east. The cruel and cunning Mongol commander Thong Khan led a vast fleet of ships to the mainland of Japan, and Tsushima Island.

With the first attack of the Mongolian army, the war spread to the island. Looking at the trampled homeland, the brave samurai Sakaeijin made up his mind. As the only survivor of his clan, Hitoshi vowed to protect his countrymen and take back his home, no matter what the cost. He must abandon his lifelong path as a samurai and open up a new way of "war ghosts" to fight for the freedom of Tsushima Island in an extraordinary way.

Game features

1. Gorgeous and detailed scenes

In the beginning, we have felt the extremely gorgeous game graphics. This game adds Japanese costume martial arts movie elements. Ancient Japan and the growing scene of the match formed a very gorgeous combination, such as riding up the mountain through the stone road, coupled with the continuous fall of leaves, become a very beautiful picture. The general scene of the picture shows the high and low, the ground vegetation, trees, terrain and other design, and then with the fog, the effect is quite detailed.

2. Japanese Samurai film flavor

In addition to the film, the game inside the single combat with people in the battlefield has cinematic flavor. When the single fight is underway, the screen will be changed to somewhat like a horizontal fighting game, you can use continuous techniques or other powerful moves to kill the enemy. In addition, the protagonist can openly confront the enemy, test the reaction to kill the pioneer enemy, but after the opponent is a fake action, if too early to confront the move, failure will be deducted a lot of blood.

3. Long-range, throwing weapons attack is equally important

Ghost of Tsushima not only has a sense of cinematic performance, but also full of good gameplay. In addition to close sword fighting, there are also a variety of "war ghost weapons", long-range bow techniques are also very important, players can use their own natural environment, in a hidden location to kill the enemy. Players can also use different effects of mid-range throwing weapon attacks, such as smoke bombs with a brief invisibility effect, wind chimes to distract the attention of the enemy, will explode a pile of asphalt with the enemy's sticky bombs. A variety of combat mix, more varied than the "Assassin", but also not lack of assassin-style assassination game.

Game review

Ghost of Tsushima is a game that fits the Eastern aesthetic very well in terms of theme, and I was enthralled by the beautiful scenery, the samurai duels, and the quality of the quest design. What's even more impressive is its accurate expression of Eastern culture - whether it's glory, humility, introspection, or material sorrow. The samurai duel scenes fully embody the tension and harshness of the sword and sorcery films, and its camera language draws heavily from Akira Kurosawa's films, even providing a "Kurosawa mode" that mimics the effects of black and white television sets.
