Description

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) is a third-person role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts. It was released across multiple platforms for Xbox on July 15, 2003, PC on November 18, 2003, and iPad on May 31, 2013. The mobile versions for iOS and Android were released on December 19, 2013, and December 22, 2014, respectively. This is the first of the "Knights of the Old Republic" series, the series also has a sequel "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2" and the online game "Star Wars: The Old Republic" and so on.

The plot of this game is set in the "Star Wars" six-part series in the Old Republic period Jedi against the Sith 4000 years ago. Depending on the progress of the game, the player will finally have to make their own choice: become a Jedi to destroy the Sith, or fall into the dark side of the Force and become a member of the Sith.

The game is a classic role-playing game that won the fourth Game Developers Choice Award for Game of the Year and is considered a masterpiece of BioWare.

How to play

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic utilizes a third-person perspective similar to that of a 3D action-adventure game. In the game, you will create a character and then embark on adventures around the planet, including exposure to a variety of characters, solving a variety of puzzles and fighting a variety of battles. The game uses a semi-real-time "built-in turn-based" system for combat, which means that individual reactions and hand-eye coordination have nothing to do with the game.

In the game, your character is always actively involved in the story. You have to read some text, watch some footage and listen to some dialogue and have to make some decisions. The interaction between the characters is the best part of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Many of the game's characters have excellent dialogue that matches their respective characterizations. Most of the missions in the game are well designed and generally have multiple ways to complete them. You often have a choice between a light side or dark side approach, and the game allows you to play both sides of the hero or villain in a way that most RPGs don't give you, which is part of the fun of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
